No, but they probably get away with it more than Democrats. -

Living forever
by jws insomeone on facebook posted john 3:16 where it says people will live forever.. not that i believe it, but i just cannot imagine this.
this, to me, would be the true hell.. if i'm very lucky, i will live to be 100. at nearly half that, already some parts of life no longer hold much interest to me.
even tv shows.

GodZoo:
Pulse rockets? Science fiction is called fiction for a reason.
Nuclear pulse propulsion is a common feature of hard science fiction stories, as the idea offers high thrust and/or high specific impulse drives without requiring new physics.
Nuclear Pulse propulsion was achievable with 1950s technology (though it would have taken a couple of decades to build an interplanetary version. It is a ridiculously simple design that consists of nothing more than a massive steel plate joined to a payload/habitat section with shock absorbers.
It hasn't been built by now because of what I consider to be political reasons - a fear of the Soviet Union/Russia doing the same thing.
GodZoo:
Psalm 37:29 "And the righteous ones inherit the Earth and dwell upon it for eternity.
According to the Bible we are not going anywhere..
Even if your Bible is true that can be considered a forced interpretation. Dwelling on the Earth doesn't mean that everyone is confined to it.
Why would your God make billions of stars that are not visible to the naked eye - making the original purpose of stars moot (Genesis 1:14) - with no seeming purpose?

Tenacious:
I agree with Village Idiot in that, and this is considering planets and stars still, to this day, continue to be formed, we might eventually become space travelers exploring other planets, stars, and galaxies.
GodZoo:
We are doing that already and so far they are all lifeless, cold and dead and unable to support any form of life.
We should also not forget that the Bible itself clearly contradicts this fantasy of space travel and galactic exploration.
Psalm 27:39
'And the righteous ones inherit the Earth and dwell upon it for eternity.'
GodZoo, multiply 8 planets out of which 1 has life times 100 million and you'll get an idea of what lies ahead. Our little camera thrown out in space by a bottle rocket is no match for the pulse nuclear spaceships and the thousand mile wide space telescopes of the future.
By the way, that scripture you cite is not in Psalm 27 which doesn't have a verse 39.

We discovered a Dyson Sphere! . . . maybe
by Coded Logic inokay, okay, okay - i know we're not supposed to jump to conclusions.
but the odds this is a "naturally occurring event" are pretty low.
and it's just the sort of megastructure we would expect an advanced alien civilization (type 2) to build.

prologos:
The idea is too, to beam the captured energy onto further colonized bodies, it would be h-- to live with no shade, sunlight coming and going. yes, the star/collector would still have to maintain a heat balance. but, build them and they will come, look at this planet.
It doesn't have to be hell since the distance from the parent star can be calculated to the point where the temperature would be modest.
Shade can also be provided when clouds form (they only need a few miles of atmosphere to do so). If you were to need artificial shade it can be provided by orbiting parasols above the ringworld/Dyson sphere.

prologos: ...would not a Dyson Sphere block the star light completely, surround, encapsul the light source?
It might still be under construction. Even if it were to block all visible light it would still shine in the infrared as waste heat absorbed from the sunlight. It would still be visible by satellites with infrared capability.

No 'Tight Pants' policy is now official - classed as 'disturbing'
by wizzstick inin short:- tight pants is no longer just a am3 hang up (or is that a hang up on the well hung?
)- brothers who have effeminate body language are flagged up- as are sisters with 'masculine' hair styles or dress- such dress is 'disturbing to the congregation'- the above must heed the (repeated) counsel from the elders...or they get stripped of the right to share on the ministry- however...this will not be revealed (announced) to the congregation.
wow.

I would not mind living to be a thousand or more years. There is plenty to learn within that time frame especially if we become a space faring species. -

Actually 1984 did have a 'church' and a theocratic mentality. It was the worship of Big Brother. -
